"Neely stood out for her dedication, compassionate approach, and expertise. She quickly bonded with our children, creating a nurturing environment they thrived in. Her background in child development and experience in preschool and nanny roles gave her a deep understanding of children’s needs. What made Neely exceptional was her ability to plan engaging activities that our kids loved, from backyard camping adventures to transforming our basement into a movie theater. She tailored her care to each child, managing routines smoothly and fostering a safe, supportive atmosphere. Her proactive communication kept us informed and reassured, as my wife is a physician and I am in the logistics field, and have less time for daily meetings. Above all, Neely’s warmth, patience, and grace in handling any situation made a significant impact on our family. She genuinely cares about children and it showed in her daily dedication."

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have over four years of professional childcare experience, including a year as a preschool teacher where I developed and implemented age-appropriate curriculum, fostered a positive learning environment, and conducted activities to promote social, emotional, and cognitive development. As a nanny for more than three years, I provided comprehensive care for children ranging from infants to school-age, created and supervised engaging activities, assisted with homework, managed daily routines, and supported children’s social and emotional growth. Additionally, I have six months of experience as a behavior technician, working one-on-one with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) to implement behavior intervention plans, conduct ABA therapy sessions, collect and analyze progress data, and collaborate with a team of specialists to support the development of social, communication, and self-help skills.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy engaging children in various activities that promote their development. Imaginary play, such as puppet shows and performances, allows children to express themselves creatively. I love nature walks, park visits, and exploring new places. Indoors, I enjoy arts and crafts, reading, and educational games. Music and movement activities like singing and dancing are also favorites. Cooking and baking with children is always fun, as are social games that foster empathy. Mindfulness practices like yoga and guided meditations help children relax and focus. I also enjoy visiting museums and planning activities with parents to ensure a well-rounded experience.

The most important part about being a nanny...

In my opinion, the most important part about being a nanny is building a strong and nurturing relationship with the children under your care. This relationship forms the foundation for trust, respect, and emotional connection, which are crucial for their well-being and development. By understanding each child’s unique personality, needs, and interests, a nanny can provide personalized care and support that fosters growth, learning, and happiness. Building this bond not only ensures a positive experience for the children but also allows the nanny to effectively collaborate with parents in providing consistent and loving care.

My experience with special needs children...

I have extensive experience working with special needs students, starting with several volunteer programs throughout high school. I also have personal experience, as my brother has special needs. Professionally, I worked as a behavior technician for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), where I implemented behavior intervention plans and conducted ABA therapy sessions. During this time, I also gained experience with g-tube care. Additionally, I have taken college courses in childhood development and gained valuable knowledge from my previous positions, equipping me with the skills and understanding to provide compassionate and specialized care for children with various needs.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my most cherished nanny moments occurred during my time with a family I had been caring for over the past 8 months. I transformed their basement into a cozy movie theater experience for the children. We decorated makeshift chairs out of cardboard boxes, adorned the space with twinkling string lights for ambiance, and embarked on a fun experiment of making homemade popcorn. Amidst our excitement, we underestimated the power of popcorn, and soon the kitchen filled with giggles as we tried to contain the overflowing kernels. It was a delightful and memorable experience that brought us all closer together through laughter and shared joy.
