A little bit about me

My name is Nefretari Salahdeen. I am 22 years old. I was currently a daycare teacher and had recently stopped working due to the environment and not being paid for the work I was doing. I want to continue to work in childcare and teach children. I truly love what I do. I am beyond passionate when it comes to the work I provide. This will be my first time being a nanny but with being a teacher to 13 children and being enrolled in a CDA program, I am confident that I can do this with ease. I am experienced with changing diapers, making bottles, potty training, teaching children how to read, write, color sort, and shape/number/ alphabet recognition. It's more than a gig making money, I love what I do and I do everything with my very best intentions and heart. I do not drive at the moment but I do have reliable transportation and I'll always find a way. As of right now I have no other job so my schedule is open. I'm ready to show you what I can provide!

The most important part about being a nanny...

The child's needs always come first. Whether it's emotionally, mentally, or physically. You do not go forward until that child is comfortable. Everything you do is for the benefit of that child and their future. Even the small things. You do what is best for that child and not you always!

My experience with special needs children...

I had a student who had autism. I was able to keep him calm when he had an outburst or disruptive behavior. I was also able to get to know him and his liking so he could understand my teaching materials.

The most important part about being a nanny...

This will be my first time being a nanny, but as a daycare teacher, my favorite moment was teaching my 1-3 year old students about the earth for earth day, and they was able to go home and tell their parents that the earth orbits around the sun. The parents were shocked that their 1-3 year old children knew what the word orbit means.
