Child care in nursery, children and teens at my church and for neighbors and friends. Tutoring for school age children through college, specializing in math and science. Youth camp counselor and mentor for children and teens at various camps.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy teaching children about science, nature, cooking, life skills, and learning more about their interests. I enjoy helping children with their sports and school assignments. I enjoy reading, doing arts and crafts, playing pretend, and watching movies and playing games with children.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Being a nanny means so much to me. The responsibility of taking care of children and loving and nurturing each one as an individual is always top priority; however, building a relationship with not only the parents but with the children is most important. I like to learn about the children, their hopes and dreams, their likes and dislikes, and earning their trust and respect. I have found from personal experience and my time spent with children that having a relationship founded on love, respect, trust, and friendship makes all the difference. Children listen and respect authority more when they have a great relationship with me.

My experience with special needs children...

I have worked with special needs children at my church and during summer camps at the Knoxville Zoo. I myself have had several health problems myself. I am CPR and First Aid certified and have volunteered with my service dog, Taffy, at various special needs schools in Alabama and Ohio. I am comfortable with oxygen tanks, feeding tubes, giving medications, heart and oxygen monitors, and port care. I am eager and open to learning about any other medical care needs as well.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite moments are those where I am able to deep belly laugh with the children. From cooking disasters, dance parties, and playing pretend to clever ways to help with homework, outdoor adventures, and watching silly movies. The joys of children's laughter make my heart oh so happy, which is why laughter with children are my most cherished memories.
