More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
While most of my childcare experience has been through nannying (and babysitting in my teen years), I also have some experience volunteering in middle schools to teach about environmental sciences. This involved creating and executing lesson plans, presenting, and providing extra tutoring when necessary.
I also have 3 younger siblings, and have regularly been in charge of their care. Part of this included supervising and assisting them with synchronous and asynchronous schoolwork during lockdown.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love encouraging kids to explore the limits (or lack thereof) of their imagination.
Creative projects are always fun- coloring, painting, sewing, textile crafts, photography, you name it! One of my favorite activities is setting up the opportunity for kids to invent new things from household recycling or properly sourced natural materials.
I also love anything that gets both me and the child(ren) active! I have been a ballet dancer all my life, so music and movement are second nature to me. When I'm not dancing I love to go for walks/hikes, swim, and just enjoy exploring outside. I must admit I don't know the rules of many sports, but with multiple younger siblings that have played a variety of sports, I am always willing to try!

To me, the most important part about being a nanny is using developmentally accurate activities to engage with both the child and the family. I am there to be an extra set of hands, but I also want to nurture a connection that helps a child thrive through whatever stage of life they are in.
