Hi there, I’m Nora!
I am a passionate, enthusiastic and energetic caretaker looking to fill the missing piece in your family. As your nanny, my goal is to learn and grow with you and your children. I am passionate about encouraging self-awareness and assurance, learning and growth through play and exploration. I look forward to spending days outside getting active and learning about how our amazingly capable bodies help us to explore the plant and animals that color our world. On the days we are inside-bound I am excited to share my creativity and love for arts and crafts, cooking, baking or engaging and thrilling books. I have a background in day care, school and home care settings caring and providing educational instruction for children of ages infant to elementary. I have earned my Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences from the University of New Haven and have a passion for holistic wellness. I work part time as a high school mentor/educator and am mommy to an incredible baby boy.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love to explore creativity! Activities I enjoy doing with children include arts and crafts, reading, playing sports outside like soccer and gymnastics and using the imagination we all have inside of us to create experiences. I love baking and cooking and teaching children how they can play a role and of course how to clean up after as well. My goal is to make the best of the time I spend with children whether it’s aiding in homework or playing pretend. Anything they can imagine I am ready to put my all into.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important thing about being a nanny is being an active listener and and advocate for for the children I am caring for. During critical periods of development where we are learning how to be confident and sure of ourselves, developing self-awareness, there should be no shortage of patience and guidance in their environment. making them feel supported, reassuring them to feel how they feel and helping them work through big feelings as little people, letting them know they are safe and they are special. I truly believe these are the things that shape individuals for the rest of their lives. it is most important to me to be a trusted advocate for these children.

My experience with special needs children...

I have experience caring for children with ADHD as well as children on the autism spectrum. All children are unique in their needs and it is my job to learn how to best support them.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment was when I was working in a daycare. I was reading with all of the children in the class when after some time other things caught their attention. I found myself sitting with just one of the children. I look to her and said “well, everyone left me!” She looked at me just a few inches from my face snuggled by my side reading a book, and said, “I am here for you” in the sweetest kindest voice. I have never been able to forget this moment and how I felt. It was a moment of realization of just how important I was to each and every one of those children. Not only was it reminder of that, but it also reminded me of the pure nature of children, how kind and considerate they innately grow to be. I have committed myself to the pursuit of nurturing that kindness.
