Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I was an “assistant teacher” at an afterschool elementary program for specials needs kids. I put that in quotation marks because I believe it was much more than that, and due to the small number of students and unique tasks I carried out, it really felt close to a nannying job! I would help children form ages 5-10 excel in academics, as well as team building and communication development… it was such a rewarding job - so much so that it kickstarted my love for working with kids, and going to school to become a pediatrician.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I would love to get kids into playing tennis, and would bring my own equipment to coach them free of charge if parents would like! I also enjoy helping children discover their creative side, whether that be through art, music, or anything really!

Understanding the type of child you are dealing with. They are each so unique and so malleable, and it’s crucial to understand that they’re in an incredibly aggressive time of growth in development, hence why I strive to always adjust my approach.

Really just seeing the growth in trust between me and the kids I work with. One special moment was on my last day, when all the kids I got really close to drew me photos; I keep them with me and will appreciate those children for the rest of my life.
