More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
My relevant experience includes serving as a dedicated sponsor for a youth group over four years. In this role, I was actively involved in the supervision, mentorship, and well-being of the children, including planning and coordinating various activities and events. My responsibilities included helping the kids organize fundraising efforts, ensuring their safe participation at volunteer events, and managing logistics for their annual conferences. This experience honed my skills in organization, communication with both youth and parents, and providing responsible, engaging care in a group setting. I found great joy in helping these young individuals grow and develop essential life skills, and I am eager to bring this same dedication to a nannying position.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
While I am excited to begin my new career as a nanny, some of my favorite moments have been those shared during enriching outings with family members. I have always enjoyed taking the children in my care to the local park to explore and burn off energy or spending quiet time at the library helping them pick out new books and discover a love for reading. I also love baking simple recipes together or doing fun/easy arts and crafts projects. The genuine excitement and smile on their faces during these simple things are truly rewarding, and those are the moments I treasure most.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most vital aspect of being a nanny is fostering a relationship built on trust and open communication. My goal is to provide parents with the peace of mind that their children are not only safe and cared for but also thriving in a stable environment. I achieve this through consistent reliability, professional boundaries, and clear communication about their children's day-to-day activities. Building that mutual trust, respect is paramount to a successful, long-term working relationship.
The most important part about being a nanny...
While I am new to professional nannying, my extensive experience caring for my grandchildren has inspired this career transition. I retired a couple of years ago after 30 years of public service, a career that instilled in me immense patience, reliability, loyalty, and exceptional listening and communication skills.
My favorite moment that exemplifies my approach to childcare was teaching my granddaughters how to follow a simple baking recipe. We measured ingredients together, turning the activity into a fun discussion about fractions and sequences.
Watching them take turns and seeing the genuine pride they had in the finished cookies we made together was incredibly rewarding. I truly enjoy showing children how things work, helping them build self-confidence, and using my communication skills to help them articulate their needs and feel understood in a safe, stable, and nurturing environment.
