I worked as an after school teacher for YMCA in bayview hunters point for 2 years straight tutoring the kids, being a listening ear, and just being a safe space overall. I also worked at my aunties daycare for a summer with infant- 5 years.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I like to do creative arts and crafts, going to parks/ child friendly events (depending on parents approval) and honestly just whatever the child’s interests are. I like to encourage new hobbies, and try to steer away from the electronics.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My last day working at the YMCA all my kids wrote me heartfelt letters, and each brought me their own gift with meaning to it. It made me so happy because I’m glad I’m a core memory in the kids life, and just knowing I did such a great job caring for them.
