I have taken care of my younger siblings and my nieces and nephews all from quite a young age, I have also had frequent paying jobs and have always done my best to ensure their home is safe, well cared for, and take care of the children with patience and kindness. As well as following any set rules for their family’s home to stay consistent and well balanced:)
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I like to find ways to make sure the kids get outdoors and not glued to a screen all the time, I think it’s important for young minds to enjoy the outdoors and appreciate nature from a young age. I also quite enjoy showing young minds art and for them to be creative and if they mess up they can also start over. Another activity a lot of kids i’ve watched over the years have really enjoyed dancing and just moving around to some music, a quick example is a game called freeze dance where music plays and the kids can move around and dance and do whatever feels comfortable for them to be themselves but when the music pauses they have to completely still:)
The most important part about being a nanny...
Making sure the kid(s) feel listened to and respected, respect should always go both ways and I want the kids i watch to know i am trying to understand and will take my time to try and understand how they are feeling:) Also making sure the children are also well listening to me and try and explain to them where i’m coming from, of course taking care of their needs such as food and water and making sure they are safe is as equally important.
