I think the most important part of being a nanny is interaction with the children. I think that many people think childcare is easy because they believe you can just set children in front of toys or TV and leave them alone, but nannying is about helping children grow and interact with the world around them. Young children are at a crucial developmental stage where they are learning how to interact with the world, and people, around them at rapid speed. Being sure to create those learning moments and help the children through them is of utmost importance.

When a child I was watching did not like a meal I made him, but he tried to convince me that the reason he did not want to eat it was because he was "so full." It was very endearing, and I am glad he did not want to hurt my feelings by letting me down easy.
