More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I’ve been working as a nanny for a family of two children (one with autism, another with ADHD) for the past 2.5 years. Before they were in school, we used to attend theme parks and go on daily adventures to entertain the kids outside of the house and I truly did enjoy it! The children are older now, therefore I’m looking for another family to join long term! I am very passionate about continuing to be around children as much as I can! Before becoming a nanny, I also worked at a daycare center as an early childhood caretaker. I worked at an elementary school as a before and after school kindergarten teacher and even was a gymnastics instructor at one point!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I am all about anything educational. Definitely into developing their skills & helping them grow developmentally. Will read to them and teach them colors, numbers, letters, etc. I have a lot of patience & like to communicate with the children a lot to help their speaking skills. I am willing to speak to the children in Spanish, if so desired to help develop another language. I also like to do a lot of arts and crafts to help grow their skills, as well as dancing to music, which helps their rhythm. I love laying outside with them as well as any game that interests the child, such as cars or dolls. I am energetic, young & fun to play with!

The most important part about being a nanny...

You need to have the willingness to love another person's child as if they were your own. Loving children is a passion I am committed to for the rest of my life. Having the opportunity to care for another person's little miracle is only the greatest blessing I could ever ask for! Children simply add a sprinkle of love & laughter into my life!

My experience with special needs children...

The family I previously was a nanny for had children on the autism spectrum, ADHD & eating disorders.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The one moment that will forever stick in my heart will be the moment the previous child I cared for, with autism, first responded to his name! He’s non-verbal, never acknowledged anyone around him, no spatial or social awareness and did not make eye contact. He never responded to any questions you asked, etc. He had never responded to his name before, but on this one random afternoon at his grandmother’s house, I got to witness the very first time this child ever responded to his name. I can’t describe to you the immensable amount of joy in my heart in that very moment. So many emotions felt at once, it was truly beautiful! I now have an autism awareness tattoo just for him!
