A little bit about me

Hello! I’m a fun, caring and responsible, trustworthy mother, myself!
I lived in Melbourne, Florida for 6 years and was a houseparent for a foster care group home for 3-4 yrs. I lived in 2 weekends out of the month. I was CPR certified during this time. I was in charge of 12 non-delinquent girls ages 6-17, planned fun activities for them, picked them up from school, helped teach them basic living skills such as meal preparation, cooking, cleaning, helped with homework etc. It was a very home type environment, nurturing and extremely fulfilling.
I worked for ARC (association for retarded citizens although we don’t use the word retarded any longer….) I worked with mostly adults, planned their activities. Took them to the movies, hiking, taught them basic job training skills. Another fulfilling, loving job.
I have teenagers , myself, married and live downtown. If considered for any “nanny” position you’ll be guaranteed that your child will be in safe, nurturing hands and environment.

My experience with special needs children...

My youngest at 2-4 years old was involved with occupational and physical therapy. Also a development/behavioral psychologist. My mother is a retired special Ed teacher and I helped out a lot with her students. Watching some of them being handed a high school diploma was the most gratifying. I’m a psychology major and developmental psychology was always my favorite!

The most important part about being a nanny...

Too many to mention… I’d have to say that when little ones would make me things for no reason at all was the best.
