A little bit about me

My name is Patricia Barrios. My first job was when I was 11 yrs old. Babysitting. I loved it. My mom always called me her little hen. Always wanting to care for others. I actually had many of those jobs growing up until I started having my own. I had weekends for 3 different families with kids of all ages. And an after school job for two kids which involved with helping with homework and dinner. This particular job comes very naturally for me. I have also in the past had worked as a sub teacher at St. Vincent Operation Breakthrough in Kansas City Mo. I was in rooms of all aged children. I was good at caring for the children and weekly planning. The weekly planning consist of learning activities that would teach infants a d children to be on target with their learning. Learning activities, homework, indoor and outdoor activities and sports. I do not like cell phones and practicing of cell phones with kids as well as video gaming. I feel they get in the way of learning and the focus of what is really important for their successful futures. Some use would be okay but I am that type that would get your children so involved with other activities that they wouldn't have time for phones or game consoles. 😊

The most important part about being a nanny...

Bonding with the children and keeping target with their learning.

My experience with special needs children...

I did some care for a special needs child while working at St. Vincent Operation Breakthrough. Those duties were, changing diapers, strolls in his wheelchair in and outdoors, feedings of special foods, floor time, and making him smile and laugh.

Was playing the mimic game with an infant. I love when they learn new things.
