My experience with special needs children...
First and foremost, understanding. I realized having an action plan between parents and providers helped articulate the proper strategy; it added precognition to the empathy. I had the privilege to be beside a young genius and create a new perspective on what I considered then- life challenges. Helping him conquer those daily challenges was nothing short of a privilege. I had the opportunity to recognize the necessity of emotional intelligence. In order to foresee, regulate, and redirect attentively when needed, the importance of emotional intelligence led me to strengthen my very own. Looking back, not only because I am a mom now, this experience developed a deeper admiration for the lifelong, persistent dedication of parents.
