I have 4 years child care experience. 1 year as a nanny, and and 3 years in a licensed child care facility. My experience is mostly with infants ages 6 weeks to 16 months.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Age appropriate activies are important for all children's cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development. For younger infants I love activies like tummy time, singing and reading to them, and practicing tracking toys for visual development. Once good head control is gained I would encourage activities like practicing sitting up and quiet independent play for short periods of time. For mobil infants who have a strong desire to move and explore I love doing sensory activities things like finger painting, and creating sensory boards for exploring different textures. If the infant has begun eating solids, offering meals and snacks regularly is another great activity. encouraging them to practice fine motor skills by picking up bite sized pieces of food.
