More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I worked in a special needs daycare a few years ago before I had my son, I now have 2 children so believe me when I tell you the experience is there. I have also did babysitting jobs growing up as well as helping with younger siblings growing up.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy taking children on walks and singing with them as well as teaching them to count or sing the ABC's watching children grow up and have a personality of their own is a beautiful thing to me. Im a very sentimental person so its magical to me to watch as a little person becomes their own person.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important thing about being a nanny or babysitter is to be attentive and keep your eyes on the children. Know what they are doing at all time, being patient. They are children and they are meant to be a handful thats what makes them so fun. Be kind they remember more than you know and they are innocent. They make messes and goof around thats what they are meant to do. They are enjoying life before it gets harder on them when they grow up. Be understanding sometimes they may act out or do things that are uncalled for but they always have a reason for something they are doing and it may go deeper than you understand. They could be trying to get your attention, they could be trying to tell you how they feel but not know how. There are a bunch of things that are important for a nanny and babysitter to know and understand when becoming a nanny or babysitter. But the most important of all is to keep the babies and children safe.

My experience with special needs children...

I have cared for children who couldn't speak as well as caring for children with autism. I have the patience and kindness to care for children who need the extra care to be heard and understood even when they cant say exactly what it is that they want or need.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I was babysitting one time and this sweet little girl named Emma reached her hand up and put her palm on my cheek and looked me in the eyes for what felt like an entire minute and it melted my heart. Moments like that make babysitting worth it. I dont mind messy kids, clean kids, I enjoy the company of kids because they are so sweet and understanding in a different way than adults. They can understand what you are feeling without you even showing what your feeling.

Part-Time Nanny Available in North Fort Myers, FL: Vanessa B.

For over 30 years, I have been involved in the day-to-day care of children in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area. I recently moved to Fort Myers Florida and am eager to resume my career as a Nanny. I have extensive experience with newborn twins. I was a licensed child-care provider in the state of Pennsylvania, however, Florida does not currently have any such statute. I am certified in CPR and First Aid. I can provide a loving, patient and kind environment for infants and children. I assist new mothers and fathers in navigating their new role as a parent, if asked to do so. I prepare healthy nutritious meals, training in age appropriate personal hygiene skill sets; light housekeeping; age appropriate activities that will stimulate children to be the best they can be. I can also provide assistance to special needs infant children as well.
