Greetings Parents,

My name is Porchia Hare. I am a Charlotte native, born and raised. I lived and nannied in Atlanta, GA for 12 years. I run a Custom Cakes business part-time so I love the kitchen. I taught Middle School (Language and Social Studies) for 5 years, came out and started my career in nannying. I love all things art from Music to Museums to DIYs. I am a sucker for HGTV and I love Children and cultivating their interest. The thing I love about children in how open and willing they are to explore so many interest. I absolutely love seeing them gravitate to the hobbies and interests that make them unique. They are so honest, so pure and carefree. My goal is to get established long term with a family as I am seeking consistency. The duties I am accustomed to in this line of work are running errands, light laundry, pick up and drop off, homework, and extra curricular activities. The most important part about being a nanny...

I think the most important part about nannying is developing a close rapport and openess with the children. I think that a lot of occasions you spend more time with the children than the parents do. With that being said, cultivating a space where children feel a security in operating openly and honestly will always be my main objective.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I nannied for a family that had 2 kids, Drew 4½ and, 3, Isabella Jane. This day the kids asked for "Mall Chicken" aka ChickfilA. We parked by the Nordstroms to cut through to the main mall area. As we passed the male fragrances, we stopped to smell the notes. The kids each picked up their own bottles to get a whiff. As they are smelling them, they're carefully placing them back in its original place. The sales associate walks up to them and says "now now, be careful with those" and Drew goes "Oh, its ok, our house is well decorated". Lol. He was pretty much insinuating "MA'AM, you can definitely RELAX, we're well versed on how to take care of nice things." LOL. I thought it was so cute how he politely advocated for himself. The associate looked at me and I backed him 100%, "He's right, they're not going to break anything". But honestly and truly, they really knew how to take care of nice things and I loved how exposed they were to nice and even fragile things at such a young age.
