A little bit about me

Hey! I’m Pricilla and I do enjoy taking care of children. I have online school, I may change my schedule every month due to zoom classes. I have a good reputation with kids, including those of family friends, they tend to like me but if they don't trust me right away I give them their space and don't force them to talk to me or play with me if they don't want to. I was the unofficial babysitter at parties, usually because I wanted to be away from the loud music. During school I was often sat next to the Special Education kids so I've interacted positively with them, I was their friend and understood them to the best of my ability. They ranged from autism to physical disabilities to severe anger issues. I also have a few current friends who have autism and ADHD. I may not know everything about it but I always try to be as understanding as possible.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I’ve taken care of children when I babysat my little sister or younger cousins, my mom would always tell me to go keep an eye on her so I always ended up watching all the kids. I remember one time one of the girls, who was one of the friends of one of my cousins, came up to me teary-eyed saying that her stomach hurt. I told her to drink some water, rest for a bit, and try using the bathroom, she had been drinking a lot of soda, eating food fast, and running around. After about an hour she complained that it didn't get better so I asked her mother if we could give her ibuprofen and she cuddled up next to me for comfort until the pain went away. I also volunteered for Trick or Treat at the castle when I went to Greeley Central, it was fun, we often just kept kids in place when they got separated from their parents, and had rooms that had different things you could do to entertain them, giving them candy at the end.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love playing games, video games, bord games, and physical games like tag. I like walking so walking around a park is fine, going to a playground is fun too, I'm more than willing to go down slides with them or push them on the swings. I'll draw with them too.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The children’s safety, well-being, and happiness. If the kid doesn't like me as a nanny then I'm fine if you as the parent decide that I'm not a good fit for your family. The kid must enjoy being around me because of how much time I will end up spending with them in the end. Even if it's only a few times a week, that can be a lot for a kid. I will always put their health and safety first when it comes to it, if they’re sick, I'll make soup and give them medicine if they need it, make sure they get rest, help with chores as well and if they want to jump off the couch and do a double backflip, I'll convince them not to, even if they end up mad at me.

My experience with special needs children...

In school, from elementary to high school, I was friends with them and interacted with them a lot. I do my best to be understanding with them, and never judge them, they honestly were my favorite friends because we shared a lot of interests.
