I have 8 years of babysitting experience and have been taking care of my nephew for the past 5 years, seeing as though he’s going to school this next fall I’m no longer needed by my sister and am looking for a full time nanny position.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Nature walks and little scavenger hunts! fun arts and crafts projects are always an option. I love teaching children the power of knowledge as well! Science experiments are a must! Tailoring a curriculum/activities to the child’s needs are what is most important so after listening to the child and or observing their behaviors I can get a better idea of how to stimulate them in a way that can be both fun and engaging for them. I’ve done tons research on different activities to help create a foundation for independence and self sustainability, which I find to be important to incorporate into daily play.

Is to treat the children you are working with as people. I am not nannying an extension of a parent, rather an individual who has the ability to form their own thoughts, feelings and opinions. Listening to each child’s needs and creating a good line of communication( both verbal and non verbal) is another aspect I deem important.

I think the sweetest time I can remember working with one of my kids is when one of them drew a picture for me. The picture was of me and my dog and it was drawn rainbow style. It was the first dog she ever successfully drew and I have it hung up in my kitchen to this day
