Hello! My name is Rachel Walker, I’ve worked at a children’s hospital for over a year and participated in a plethora of other child-centric activities such as babysitting and group child care. Currently, I am in school for child & family development on a Child Life track, which focuses on making medical settings and experiences developmentally appropriate. Additionally, I have been lucky enough to become fully vaccinated for Covid-19. Given the opportunity, it would be an honor to get to know, teach and learn from your children!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Currently, I have provided appropriate, responsible care for groups of up to 9 children ages ranging from 2-11. Other experiences include providing care for up to two children, both under the age of 10 in traditionally babysitting opportunities.
I have also been able to use my ballet training to teach children ages 3 - 11 in classical ballet technique at age appropriate levels.

My experience with special needs children...

While working in hospital and volunteering with St. Jude, I was afforded the opportunity to work with children with a variety of special needs such as down syndrome, as well as those with feeding tubes, leukemia and more. Facilitating conversations and activities for these children proved a hugely rewarding experience.
