A little bit about me

I am a single woman. 55 yrs old. I am raising my 9 year old grandson. I adore Littles of all ages. I was always the girl everyone called to watch their kids. But after my kids were grown up and moved forward in their lives I started doing in home care for dementia patients and WWII vets. After doing that for many many years I decided to take a step back from that. It really breaks my heart every time I lose a client. So with that being said..... I can't wait to get back into the swing of doing daycare. Ideally I would like to do it in the comfort of my home. If that doesn't work for your family please still give me shout, I’m sure we can work something out. Thanks!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I raised 3 wonderful children, and while doing so I ran a daycare facility out of my home. I did this for 10 years.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Reading, writing, drawing, coloring, music, singing, dancing, educating, practicing healthy eating habits, cooking together, crafts. All age appropriate of course.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Keeping the kids safe and providing structure & love

My experience with special needs children...

My grandson has a speech impediment and on the low spectrum of autism.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my daycare kids was sent to the office for talking back to the teacher. The office couldn't reach the parents so they called me. They informed me of what had happened and sent him back to class. Mind you, they never told "said child" that they called me. So when I questioned "said child" they asked how I found out. I said "a little birdie told me" a few weeks later. "Said child" comes in the door after getting off the bus and is clearly upset. Before I could even ask what was wrong "said child" began to cry and ask "Did he come"? I said "did who come"? They said "the little birdie"? Ha ha ha!
