A little bit about me

Hi! I’m Carlie! I’ve been babysitting on and off since I was young and grew up around special education, as my mom was a SPED teacher. I’m currently studying Art Education with a minor in Special Education and work at a Level 4 self-contained school serving ages 9–21. I’ve also worked as a substitute paraprofessional from kindergarten through high school.

I love helping kids build confidence, explore their interests, and find joy in the little things! I’m happy to bring crafts and art activities, help with homework, daily living skills, and social-emotional learning. I’m experienced with a variety of abilities and behavioral support needs. I’m PCA certified and have crisis intervention training.

During the school year, I’m available weekdays after 4:30 p.m. or Sundays (up to 3 days a week) I’m much more flexible during the summer!

My goal is to create a safe, fun, and welcoming environment where every child feels supported, valued, and free to be themselves!

I have worked in many special education settings. I was a substitute paraprofessional and worked with kindergarten through high school and now I work in a self-contained school and growing up I babysat a few different kids with autism!
