A little bit about me

Well hello there! A-little bit about myself & my background with kiddos! I’ll start with my name of course. I’m Rea’l & I’m 24 years old. I grew up watching my cousin then that grew into me getting my first job which was working at a daycare. I have worked off post daycare and on post (military base) day cares. I absolutely loved off and loving on post. Also I have been a nanny before for 4 different families. I enjoy taking care of the little ones and helping them learn & reach goals! My first CDC I was signed in was 2 to 2 1/2 which was the potty training age room but I work all rooms from new born to 5 year olds. My second CDC on base I work with all ages besides infants (didn’t have a Covid shot is why I didn’t work with infants but I took all the training for them). I also worked/working with a handful of special needs kiddos. From non-verbal, self harm/behavioral to seizures, allergies, eating disorder.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

My first job was actually Kiddie Academy as an assistant teacher! My main room was 2 to 2 1/2 years olds but I would jump around from infants to 5 year old’s so I was also trained in those rooms. My second place was actually on a military base CDC. I mainly did the same thing but didn’t work with infants as much.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Honestly anything they will or do enjoy. When the weather is nice outside go to the pool, the zoo or even if they don’t really like being outside as much I’d love to color with them or cuddle up to watch Disney movies.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Giving the child/children memories they can look back on or use in their future to overcome challenges or hard times. Also watching them grow in their own way & reaching life goals becoming independent little ones.

My experience with special needs children...

When working at kiddie academy I did have some child with special needs. Mainly were non verbal or behavioral issues children. Working at Ivy I definitely had a lot more from non verbal, behavioral, emotional/ self harming children & of course allergies. I never seen it as a problem and always made them include along with having a great day like the rest of the child. I did always make share when working with them their needs were met.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite moment is always when I first would come in cause they would always be so excited and say “miss re miss re” when coming in the classroom! Or the times where the girls would play with my hair then the boys showing me there dinosaurs giving them silly names. I just always enjoyed hanging out with the children.
