More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have neighbors with little kids and I look after them sometimes as well as helping with the children's VBS. I have also periodically cared for other family in my neighborhood. I am the oldest kid in my family and extended family so I am always put in charge of watching over the little ones. :)
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love doing outdoor activities like hiking, walking animals, going for walks, going to the pool, having water balloon fights, and so many more things. I also love playing board games, doing arts and crafts, and doing science experiments with kids.
My experience with special needs children...
I have a little cousin (6) who is highly on the spectrum as well as having ADHD. We spend a lot of one on one time as well as doing things that are very mentally stimulating so he doesn’t get bored. He stims out a lot so I have so techniques that I use to calm him down. I have a lot of tips and tricks but my main one is just to keep them mentally stimulated and giving them options for sensory stimulation. Overstimulated is a huge problem for a lot of kids on the spectrum so I try and narrow the focus of their minds to one sense. Like grabbing something really fluff and giving him headphones so he is purely focused on one sense and one feeling.
