I used to volunteer at The Children’s Hospital of Michigan where I would bring around a fun cart of crafts to do with kids in the waiting rooms. I’ve been babysitting relatives and kids of friends for 8+ years now. I have a lot of experience working with kids of all ages that are within the foster care system.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I really enjoy playing games with kids! I’m a huge gaming person. I love board games, video games, riddles, or even a good ole game of hide and seek. Although I’m 22, I’m not sure that my love for games will ever go away. I really enjoy doing arts and crafts with them too. I love having them make art for their parents and getting to see their unique imaginations! Lastly, I’m so flexible with meeting their needs on whichever activity they would like to do! If they wanna build legos, I’ll be building a house. If they want to play Barbie’s, I’ll be right there with them!

My experience with special needs children...
Considering that I do have experience watching kids that are in the foster care system, unfortunately it’s common that special needs children are given to the system. Therefore, most of the kids that I’ve had the privilege of babysitting, are of special needs. When I was in high school, I was also a part of a program where I got to go to elementary schools to mentor special needs children.
