As a camp counselor, I took part in maintaining a proper schedule for my campers which consisted of fun and engaging activities, consistent meal times, and an appropriate sleep schedule.
5th Grade Tutor: This position required not only academic engagement, but personal engagement as well. I got to know the students that I was tutoring on a personal level in order to help them achieve their academic goals. I truly enjoy providing children with hands-on activities that do not involve technology. 'Hands-on' learning practices promote positive brain development in children and influence learning that will actually stick to the brain. This can consist of fun science experiments that influence creative thinking, drawing or painting, building and creating, reading and writing, and much more.
As a future teacher, I would like to focus on assisting my students in sustainable practices such as growing their own food and possibly producing their own clothing.
