Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love any activities that stimulate creativity and adventure with children, such as arts and crafts, reading, playing outside, and going on walks/bike rides. I think it's also fun to include kids in daily routines and activities to help them gain confidence in real-world scenarios.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I think the most important part about being a nanny is that you have the ability to make an impact on someone's childhood memories. You have the ability (and responsibility) to create joy and love in the space where their parents can't be there. Even when a child is too young to remember their nanny, their intuition will know that they were safe and nurtured.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment was from my summer job as a teenager. I cared for twin 7 year olds (one boy, one girl) and their 10 year old brother. The girl often had a hard time with being surrounded by boys, as the neighborhood kids were all boys, too. One day when she was particularly upset about feeling left out, I decided we'd have some fun girl time doing nails and hair. The way that time together shifted her mood and lit her up with confidence and joy is something I'll never forget.
