Being a nanny is so important because as children, the adults around us are the ones who shape us and create early memories with. A child will always remember an adult who genuinely cared about them and went out of their way to help them grow. That is the type of nanny I always aim to be.

My. favorite moment was when I was working at the YMCA. There was one 4 year old child that really struggled with nap time because he couldn't sleep but had a hard time with staying quiet for long stretches of time. I started taking him with me on my walk down the hall to throw out the trash during nap time and it really helped him break up the quiet time into managable chunks of time. One day as we were walking he told me that he was really happy I became a teacher in his room. It was so heartwarming to think about how impactful I was to him. I think about that comment all the time :)
