In the past I've worked as a part time nanny for a family of a set of twin 8 year olds for about five months in 2021. I then ended up worked part time at a day school, and worked with kids ages 3 months- 6 years old, I worked here from August 2021-May 2022. Most recently I worked at a YMCA day summer camp the summer 2022, worked with kids ages 5-15.

I enjoy engaging in outdoor games and sports with kids, reading books, and playing with cars or dolls!. I am also an active crafter and have multiple crafts at hand for whatever occasion.

I think the most important part of being a nanny is becoming sort of a family figure where they can always trust you. A nanny and even a sitter are people in these kids lives that take on a parental role in place of their parents, having another adult that they can turn to can help prevent them from feeling displaced or unwanted, knowing they have someone else for them.

My favorite nanny moment was with one of the twin girls I took care of. She was very standoffish and didn't seem to care about whether or not I was there (haha). Then after I came back from a week vacation where I was looking at schools, the moment I opened a door, she came running towards me and hugged me, telling me how much she missed me. It meant so much knowing how much of an impact I had on these kids lives, even if they didn't show it.
