More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I worked at a daycare with children 5 months through 4 years of age for a little over a year. I then started nannying a 5-month-old for about 6 months part-time. At the same time, I nannied for another family with a two-year-old and three other children above the age of 11. I love working with children of all ages and feel very experienced and capable in this field.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

From my experience working at a daycare, I am very creative when it comes to activities. It all depends on the age group to ensure they can focus on the activity and enjoy it. I love to do crafts, baking activities, as well as motor skills activities for ages 2 and below. Most importantly I love to get their body moving whether that's dancing to a song, doing kids yoga, or just getting outside.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part about being a nanny to me is helping children grow. As a psychology student, I pride myself on being able to help children work on their social and emotional needs/milestones. I also really enjoy teaching through play, no activity I do with a child doesn't involve learning.

My experience with special needs children...

At the daycare I previously worked at I worked with multiple children with special needs. I bonded very closely to a nonverbal child who was two years old. This was by far the most rewarding relationship I had at the daycare. Learning how to meet his needs and watch him grow was a really special experience. By the time I left the daycare he was starting to talk!
