I have always helped babysit the younger kids in my family. Anytime a family member or their friend needed a babysitter I am always the person they called. I sometimes watch my friends daughter while she goes to work.

I love playing board games, reading a couple books, playing Roblox, going outside either taking a walk or going to the park. If I have the car sometimes I would take them to the movies, aracade or any fun activites outside of the house.

To me, the most important part of being a nanny is simply being present. It’s more than just a job—it’s about consistently showing up, emotionally and physically, for the child. Being a nanny means becoming a steady, reliable figure in their life, someone they can trust, look up to, and feel safe with. It’s not just about watching over them; it’s about building a connection, supporting their growth, and making them feel seen, heard, and loved.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of the most meaningful moments I’ve had while babysitting was when I watched my younger cousins for an entire week. One evening, we were all watching a family movie together. In the movie, a girl was opening up to her therapist, telling her how much she appreciated her and how she made her feel seen and valued. Later that night, as I was getting my little cousin ready for bed, she looked at me and said she felt the same way about me—that I made her feel important and loved. She said, “Thank you for being my cousin, and thank you for loving me.” I’m a very emotional person, so her words really touched me. That moment reminded me just how powerful it is to build genuine connections with others, and how much I love creating meaningful bonds—especially with children.
