A little bit about me

**I do not have a CPR or First Aid Certificate as I do not have the current funds to afford one, however I have done research online so as to have a base level understanding. I also have had a background check done through my volunteer organization, but don't have the funds for another one.** I have ADHD, and 2 siblings with Autism and ADHD, and 1 of my younger siblings has ODD. So I have taken care of children who have special needs, from newborn, to 14+ I also have a 65+ stepfather who I have taken care of when sick
on many occasions. I have some cooking basics, cleaning basics, caretaking basics, etc. I am empathetic, hardworking,
kind, patient, etc. I am hoping to help my family financially, as well as gain enough money over the summer to pay for college tuition.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have done volunteer work with Deaf children at a Handsup Conference, as well as other volunteering opportunities with my ASL Honor Society Organization.

*I do not have any professional/paid childcare experience. However I do have childcare experience with special needs children, infants, toddlers, etc.*

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love playing board games, card games, watching movies, reading, video games, play pretend, going to the park, puzzles, word searches, minor baking, tutoring, singing/dancing.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Is letting children be children. Of course children will make mistakes, messes, not want to clean up, or follow directions, or learn. But I believe it's important to not force a child to do something unless out of safety or necessity. I believe it's important to care about children's autonomy, and have empathy towards them so as to let their curiosity grow. Since they're people learning how to be people for the first time, they need proper role models, someone to help guide them through life. Not berate them or constantly punish or ridicule them. Just letting them be children for as long as they can, in a world where children sadly grow up way too fast.

My experience with special needs children...

I have cared for children with ADHD, Autism, ODD, OCD, Deaf and Hard of Hearing children, Depression, Anxiety, Social Anxiety.

The most important part about being a nanny...

When I was volunteering for my ASL honor society organization at Handsup, we were tasked with volunteering and entertaining Deaf kids, Hard of Hearing kids, and children of Deaf parents and Deaf grandparents. We were only there for 4 days but one little girl a GODA (Grandchild of Deaf Adult) became attached to me relatively quickly. She didnt want to participate in much of the group activities, she just wanted to play play pretend with some stuffed animals and toys and whatnot. She was only 5 so this made senae. Well one activity she did participate in after some reluctance, painting t-shirts. And on this t-shirt she drew me. And I honestly teared up a little bit because it was the most adorable thing I'd ever seen, and the most sweetest thing thats ever happened after taking care of kids.
