Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I had my own in-home day care, and was involved in a babysitting co op for several years. I volunteered in the church nursery. I also developed, managed and taught an elementary science program, working with 4th and 5th graders.
More recently:
1 year with Sitter Scout, a backup care agency serving companies like Google and Lockheed Martin.
3 years here in Lawrence working with 2 families. Those were long term engagements, until the youngest children in each case were ready to move into preschool. I still love those kids and my families I worked with.

The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important thing I bring to work is providing a safety while in my care. Being in tune with the needs of each child is important to provide excellent care, and I am naturally attuned to what is needed in each moment. Bringing age and developmentally appropriate approaches is key, so that the Nanny contributes to the child's development, growth and early positive experience.

Hi! My name is Sierra, I’m looking for a full time (~35-40hr/wk as well as weekend babysitting availability) nanny position this upcoming school year starting late August at the earliest!
I have more than eight years of babysitting experience with children ages 0-10, one year as a part time nanny for a family with three busy little boys (5, 8, and 10yo), and after this summer, three years as a camp counselor (ages 7-16/17).
Ideally, I’d love to find a family with younger children, but I am perfectly comfortable with any age. I am hoping to work a full time schedule, so I am available for school pickup/drop off. At my current nanny job, I am also responsible for taking care of a young dog, as well as light housework and very open to doing the same in another position.
My earliest availability for work is the last week of August (8/24), I work as a Program Lead at a YMCA camp in Kansas so I will be busy with that over the summer.
