A little bit about me

Hi! I’ve been an active, single parent Dad since my children were in the seventh and eighth grade, and very active, while my Spouse was still alive, prior to Middle School. In our family, we have always done a lot of fly fishing, after all we are from the Northwest.
My oldest, Jack is 31 years old now, so I believe I’ve been parenting for a long time. My youngest, Kendall is 29 now and lives in Poland.
We lived in Washington, Idaho and Montana. Because of my work, we also traveled extensively. Both children married, and work in and out of the United States. We have a very European flavor in Seattle, which we all embraced.
English is my native language.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I was a single Father. I’m still a single Father, but the kids are off and married and thriving! I’ve cared for my kids friends, especially on weekends. I’m a terrific cook, so that is what my Daughter’s buddies always talked about in class, at school.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Indoors, we color paint and create, outdoors, we are active. We swim in our pool, play catch and chat. Conversing is the most important to creat rapport, peek interest, and fuel the imagination.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I like to raise good, solid individuals who will have a conscious and perform good acts as adults.

My experience with special needs children...

I do not have any experience with special needs children, with the exception of when I was in high school and in the Boy Scouts.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Well, I have taken care of kids but was never called a “Nanny”. A Moment: Everyone has the nastiest Flu. The kids come to my office, with covers and pillows, and fall asleep on the floor.
I’m on the phone working. The double snoring begins. I can’t “do” phone work any longer. I hang up the phone, call for the kids and stop my work day.
Instead we make chicken soup, with tons of garlic, wrap up in covers, with pillows and watch a movie and while they sleep, I get more soup going. It’s an early night!
