More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
As a mom, I’m a 24/7 child wrangler, snack dealer, and crisis manager. As an Army wife, I’ve handled solo parenting, frequent moves, and creating stability in the middle of chaos. Patience? I’ve got plenty. Problem-solving? Practically my superpower. I understand kids’ emotions, big and small, and I’ve learned how to help them navigate stress, transitions, and those inevitable meltdowns (theirs and mine!). No matter the challenge, I tackle it with love, humor, and a strong cup of coffee.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
From arts & crafts like DIY cards and painting to baking cookies and homemade pizzas with the kids, there’s never a dull moment! We build epic indoor obstacle courses with pillows, put on sock puppet shows during storytime, and have wild dance-offs. Game nights include board games, scavenger hunts, and puzzles, while movie nights mean popcorn and pretending we’re at a theater. Outside, we explore nature on walks, create sidewalk chalk masterpieces, and race on bikes or scooters. Park picnics, bubble-blowing, and water balloon fights keep things exciting, while soccer, tag, frisbee, and playground adventures help burn off all that energy!
The most important part about being a nanny...
Being a nanny is like being a mix of a superhero, a best friend, and a human jungle gym all rolled into one! My job is to keep tiny humans alive, happy, and (hopefully) not covered in mystery stains. I’ve got to master the art of snack negotiations, magical boo-boo healing, and answering “Why?” for the hundredth time without losing my mind. Patience is my superpower, creativity is my secret weapon, and caffeine is my best friend. At the end of the day, nothing beats the hugs, giggles, and the tiny voices saying, “You’re my favorite!” even if they also said that to the dog five minutes prior!
My experience with special needs children...
I have extensive knowledge of various disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, sensory processing disorders, and speech delays. I believe that positive reinforcement and structured routines provide essential stability for children. However, I also recognize that every child is unique, even when sharing the same diagnosis, and I am committed to adapting and learning alongside each individual. Additionally, I have firsthand experience interpreting and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), allowing me to effectively support children’s specific needs and educational goals.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I’ll never forget babysitting a pair of 4-year-old twins. When bedtime rolled around, the meltdown began—full-on drama mode! They threw themselves on the floor, kicking, screaming, and crying like it was an award-winning performance. Then, after a few seconds, one peeked out of the corner of her eye at her sibling and whispered, “Do you think it’s working?” Nice try, kid. Hahaha!
