More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I’ve babysat my whole life and I’m a mom to adult daughters ( who I homeschooled for 7 years as a stay at home mom).
I’ve been a paid Nanny for over 6 years.
My most recent position was as a ft Nanny to twin boys in Weston Ct. for the past 3 years.
It was wonderful!! We still have a good relationship. They no longer need a nanny due to schedule changes at work.
I worked mornings and returned in the afternoons
My duties included ( but not comprehensive)-
Snacks, Donners, driving to activities ,laundry, errands, occasional grocery shopping, planning fun adventures for the boys,
teaching them to read,
and doing school work.
My organizational skills are really good!
The boys received great reports from their teachers at meetings.
I really enjoy taking care of kids and helping a family keep things moving forward!
I’m looking forward to hearing from you-
Best!!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy encouraging a love for nature, collecting and discovering things outdoors to create art and read about ( according to the kids’ interest).
Visiting playgrounds, museums, libraries, sometimes trying new foods at restaurants with kids, taking them to sports, taking to trampoline parks.
I enjoy teaching kids to bake and cook.
To write letters to send to out of town relatives.
Also, I like to teach them to make homemade presents .
Also, scheduling play dates at home or coordinating with other Nannie’s or moms over friends homes.
Sometimes playing catch or soccer in the yard with them or swimming with them.

The most important part about being a nanny...
Earning the trust and respect of the children to truly encourage good behavior and manners. It’s a great privilege to spend time with children and encourage them to enjoy each new day as a gift!
To see the beauty in simple things . To look them in the eye and give them undivided attention so they truly feel special, seen and heard. In a world of distractions and ringing cell phones. Where kids can get lost in the shuffle and unfortunately feel less important. Kids need the full attention of adults and time to be seen and heard. Even their silliest thoughts!
It’s a privilege.
That’s what I love most about being a Nanny.

My experience with special needs children...
I’ve taken care of a few kids with ADHD. Two were just very talkative and excitable. One had ODD as well and was violent. I am not specially trained. But I can handle kids who are kind but just have lots of energy or are talkative.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Recently we stopped in for a Bubble Party and Reading and book give away at a local Library. One of the boys I took care of, started dancing to the music really goofy and not embarrassed at all!
So fun!
Just the sweet enjoyment of life and a summer day filled with music, a popcorn machine, good books
and the carefree times of childhood.
It was such an amazing.
Children are such a special blessing!
It’s an amazing privilege to teach them
especially to be kind and respectful towards others.
