A little bit about me

I'm an energetic college student currently studying at the University of Glasgow!! I'm currently studying English Literature with honors as well as child psychology. I'm home for the summer and looking to nanny/babysit because I love being around children. I'm the oldest of 19 cousins, meaning that I've taken on the position of role model and sitter for most of my life. I'm hardworking, creative, enthusiastic, and love a job that will keep me on my toes. I prioritize actually playing with the kids and building a relationship as opposed to only watching them play. I love excercise, arts and crafts, reading, crocheting/knitting, and being outdoors.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I did an afterschool care program at my high school where I looked after children in pre-school-6th grade. I ran outdoor activities, provided homework help, assisted with conflict resolution, and overall came in with a positive attitude for kiddos afterschool!!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I am a very crafty person. I can make bracelets, I can crochet, I can knit, and I love drawing/coloring. I am also very energetic as I love working out. I'd love to take kids to the park or just play in a yard. Whatever they're up for, so am I!!

The most important part about being a nanny...

To me, I love being a nanny because being around kids brings me joy. After a stressful year of univeristy, I look forward to being around children. I heavily prioritize actually playing with the children and being involved as opposed to exclusively watching over them. I want to be someone that both enforces the rules that parents provide, but is also looked to as someone that they can have fun with.

My experience with special needs children...

I don't have specific experience with children who have special needs. My mother is a masters degree teacher who worked with children with special needs, so I will say I have a great role model. I can say that I'm a very patient person and my experience traveling and attending a university overseas (University of Glasgow) has definitely made me comfortable with interacting with all types of individuals. Whatever would make a family more comfortable with me to take on a role involving children with special needs, I'm happy to do.
