More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have worked with children in many settings. I began working with kids as the neighborhood nanny for 3 or 4 families.
Next, I worked as a children’s teacher and supervisor at a church and gallery for a little over five years. This gave me a lot of experience working with kids from all different backgrounds, at different ages, and with specific needs. I also learned a lot about the importance of fostering a relationship with the child’s entire family, not just my student.
While in high school and college, I nannied and babysat for many families. Some of my favorites gigs were: as an in house nanny for ten year old twins, a longtime babysitter for a family of four who became like family, and as a summer nanny for two very energetic toddlers.
In more recent years, I taught at a small private school in Kansas City where I was a woman of many traits- substitute teacher, Zoom proctor, after care teacher, floater, etc.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Art art art! I have hundreds of activities and crafts in my repertoire that kiddos love! Some favorite activities are color walks, nature walks, science projects, and dance parties!
The most important part about being a nanny...
No kid gets left behind! I felt as a child that it was difficult to connect with my teachers and caregivers and I often felt like the odd one out. This experience gives me a special eye to make sure that the kiddos I teach and oversee never feel the same way.
My experience with special needs children...
I have no experience with special needs children, but I am open to gaining some.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my kiddos singing the entire song, "The Distance" by Cake at bed time. It was such a funny surprise and still one of my favorite childcare moments.
