Most of my experience has come from babysitting for family friends, neighbors, and local families in my community. I also will have just finished a summer nanny job mid August. I've watched kids of all ages—sometimes one-on-one, and sometimes multiple at once. I’ve helped with bedtime routines, meals, homework, school pickups, and lots of playtime.

I love being active and creative with kids! Some of my favorite activities include going to the park or zoo, doing arts and crafts, baking simple recipes together, reading stories, and playing games.

For me, the most important part is creating a safe, supportive, and fun environment where kids feel comfortable and cared for. Building trust with both the children and the parents is huge. I always want the families I work with to feel confident that their kids are in good hands, and I love becoming a positive and reliable part of a child’s life.

On my last day babysitting for a family I had watched all summer, the kids made me a goodbye card, gave me a big group hug, and asked if I could come back next summer. Their mom told me later that they talked about me all the time and kept asking when I’d come back. It made me realize just how big of an impact I had and how much I loved doing this kind of work. It meant the world to me to know that I had become such a meaningful part of their summer.
