More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I owned my own in-home daycare for decades before moving to the Austin area. I then became a Professional Nanny and have been blessed to be oart of some amazing families.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy reading, crafts, walks, going to the library or other outings with the children, or simply going outside with them. Their curiosity and sense if discovery are so amazing when young. Unfortunately, we, as adults, seem to loose that most of the time.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Some of the most important things for me about being a Nanny are being positive when speaking to a child. I never use the word bad with a child, as I truly believe it is the behaviour not the child that is unacceptable. I really work on their manners and respect for, not just adults, but everyone. And, the child comes “first” for me. It is very important that the family and I have a very open relationship, where we have mutual respect for each other.
My experience with special needs children...
I had several children in my daycare through the years who were ADHD and Autistic.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Watching the wonder in an infants face when they discover something new and the way an der child’s face lights up when they realise they really can do what you have encouraged them to do.
