A little bit about me

My name is Samantha, but everyone calls me Sam. I am a 45-year-old mother to one spunky, sweet, smart 7-year-old daughter. I am also a writer (I have a Master of Arts in Journalism, 2006) and an educator (I have an M.A.T. in Special Education, 2010). I've spent much of the last several years first, as a caregiver to my ill father and then, as a stay-at-home mom to my daughter, Anne. I also worked as a freelance writer in that time.

Though I enjoyed staying home as a mom and writer, I am excited to work with children again. I've missed it more than I once realized. I enjoy watching my wards grow and flourish and guiding them along the way.

Prior to 2014, I worked as an education consultant, a teacher, a teacher's assistant, an ABA practitioner (doing therapy with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder), a nanny, and a childcare center worker.

I'm eager to meet you and your little one(s).

P.S., A couple of things, I love cats and dogs and am a bit of a neat freak.
