I started babysitting children in high school and became interested in working with children when I took a child development class. I also took Child Guidance in high school, where I volunteered at the on-campus preschool. The preschool has children ranging from ages 2 to 5; therefore, I gained experience with that age group. I have babysitting/nanny experience with children ages 3 months to 14 years. I participated in service learning as part of a college class, where I helped out with the preschool kids. I have assisted in the infant, toddler, and preschool rooms during my time at Collin College. The most recent nanny position I had was caring for an infant and a toddler.

One of my favorite moments was when the family of a little girl I cared for told me they put her in time-out for something she did and she kept screaming, “I want my Mantha! I want my Mantha!”. “Mantha” was what she called me because she couldn’t say “Samantha” haha. That was several years ago and I still keep in touch with them!
