A little bit about me

I love watching and helping kids grow into the little adults they're becoming. My main goal in working with your children is to open them up to new experiences to keep their brains growing. Lots of adventures will be had!

I started working with kids when I was around 10 or 11 helping out with my family and neighbors. I have been and a teacher and a nanny on and off since graduating college. Currently I’m a civics educator in DC for students ages 11-17.

In my spare time I like to travel, garden, and spend time with my nieces.

One thing you should know about me is that I am pro-science and would prefer to work with a family that holds those same views.

I’m also a huge animal lover so they do not deter me one bit!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I currently teach in a very non traditional classroom: DC itself! We use the monuments, museums, and the entirety of the city as the classroom. Previously I have been an elementary/middle school art teacher, worked with children in the theatre department in college, and have been babysitting and nannying since I was a pre-teen.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

My favorite things to do is homemade scavenger hunts, arts and crafts, STEM activities, and cooking! I fully believe that kids are capable of way more than we give them credit for and opening up those opportunities to help them become more independent and confident in their abilities.

My experience with special needs children...

I don’t have any formal nannying experience with children with special needs, but I have worked in the classroom with children with special needs.
