More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I’ve worked with children throughout my life as a babysitter, service provider, and habilitative tech in the special needs class of an elementary school. See below for more details!
> Babysitting - I have babysat infants and children on and off throughout my late teens and adult life. My most recent babysitting gig involved watching 4 children ages 2, 4, 7 and 9 for a week while their parents took their first trip together since having kids.
> Service provider - I provided case management and community based rehabilitation services to adults and teens. The adults I worked with often had infants and or kids that my services extended to based on client goals.
> Habilitative tech - I worked with special needs children in elementary school (ages 5-9). The children I worked with had varying levels of support needs from high to low. The work I did with the kids was based on the instructions from the teacher, and following their individual learning plans to meet goals.

The most important part about being a nanny...
Providing opportunities and experiences for kids to explore, grow, and learn.
My experience with special needs children...
Most recently I worked as a habilitative tech in the special needs classroom of an elementary school. I worked closely with ages 5-9, and varying level of support needs. My job included diaper changes, toilet training, feeding, emotional regulation, communication, writing, reading, and math.
I loved seeing the progression children made as I grew to understand them and they grew to trust me. This was easily my favorite job I’ve ever had!

The most important part about being a nanny...
Once when watching 4 kids for a week, they wanted to walk to a relatively close park with their 2 friends. I put the littlest one in her stroller, the kids had their scooters, bikes, and electric toy jeep and we set off!
Suddenly we see someone walking the kids’ dog… it had apparently escaped. I take hold of the dog and we move along. Moments later, one kid doesn’t want to ride the scooter anymore so I add that to my collection and things go smoothly for a while.
One of the younger kids started having a total sit on the ground crying breakdown about being behind the other kids. After consoling her she confidently gets moving again only to immediately trip and scrape her knee. Now I have a stroller, dog, scooter, and crying 4 year old all attached to me somehow. Just when I thought it couldn’t get worse, the electric jeep died!!! It was the most chaotic walk I’ve ever been on and it felt like I was in a comedy movie!
We had fun at the park though!
