. I worked with different ages ranging from infants to preschool (ages 4-5).

I'm looking to babysit part-time, preferably on Monday's & Thursdays within New London County (New London or Groton). I don't have a car, so if it's in New London or Waterford - even better. Lastly, I will be taking a CPR class sometime this month. I have been certified in the past- but it expired earlier this year.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Carelot Children's Center ( [phone number hidden]) - Preschool Teacher (I've worked with all ages, but spent most of my time in the preschool room).

Carelot Children's Center (After School Program)

Bright & Early (Aug 2019 - May 2020) - Assistant (Toddler) Teacher

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy being creative & coming up with new activities, & anything that involves arts & crafts (coloring, drawing, painting).

The most important part about being a nanny...

Making a positive impact on the child. Being with a child forces me to be present & enjoy the moment while giving me the opportunity to take care of them & just make sure they're as happy as they can be during our time together.

I'm naturally a caring, nurturing, & loving person- so taking care of a child comes easy to me. I enjoy it - even with the challenges.

My experience with special needs children...

I had a special needs child (2 years old) in my classroom (when I worked for Bright & Early).

He had autism, & was nonverbal.

He would only respond (make eye contact with us) to his name (occasionally). We mainly communicated with him using visual cards that showed images of someone eating, playing outside, with toys ...etc.

We had a daily schedule, so play time, lunch time, snack time, etc were during the same time mostly every day. Those visual cards helped us let Emilio know when it was time to do something else & see if he was interested or not.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Everything that I mention is based on my experience working in a daycare - not as a nanny.

I generally enjoyed working with children of all ages, but the most memorable moments are without a doubt the toddlers.

I love that age, because I would see them over the months learn new words & have a voice of their own. They're also so adorable & affectionate. It was rewarding to see the excitement in their faces every time I walked into the classroom :)
