Hi! Welcome to my nannylane profile! I am a mommy of 2 boys of my own who are 10 and 5. I enjoy helping other families out when they are searching for someone to love and care for their kiddos. I know just how stressful it can be to go to a job and not know if the person responsible for your kids is showing them the same kind of love and care you would be showing if you were present! I do not just look at nanny jobs as jobs but instead a time for me to offer my love and kindness to other children and grow our village! I have always had a love for kids and being of use to others when I am able. Over the last year I made some career changes and have been focusing solely on my business, kids, and personal growth. Growing up I was the one babysitting the younger ones as well as teaching and leading classes for our younger generation. I enjoy making myself useful to others and stepping in and making meals, pickup, drop off, homework, cleaning, and just playtime! Looking forward to talking!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I taught dance and gymnastics for 8/9 years at a couple different studios. A few years ago I had an in home daycare when my youngest was first born. My usual day consisted of at least 5/6 little one’s age ranges in infant - teenager. My youngest is also autistic so I am experienced handling similar issues.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I really enjoy doing outings when able too such as zoo, museums, parks, and the many nature trails around Columbia. I try to follow a pretty relaxed schedule but like to keep meals, snacks, naps, baths, and bedtime on a similar schedule to help the little ones have an idea of how their day may go. I love doing crafts with the kiddos painting, drawing, stickers, creating something cute for the fridge. I really try to allow the kids to decide what they want to do during our days .. whether it’s snuggling and movies, playing, or whatever our day may hold!

The most important part about being a nanny...

Is being reliable, consistent, and honest with the family you are working for. Being a nanny can be really challenging but so worth it! Having to work while someone else kept my kids was a hard thing to do.. especially if I wasn’t super fond of our sitter.
I want to offer families something I found very hard to find as a working parent.

My experience with special needs children...

I have a son who is autistic so I’d like to say I myself has gained a lot of hands on experience. I have also worked in a private therapy office and learned so much from the clinicians.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Is having the kids become like family to me! I used to watch a friends son for like 2 yard and still do this day he tells her to send me Snapchat’s of himself. Knowing I gave a child a safe place to be themselves is plenty for me!
