More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I’ve also had experience working with younger kids through sports, where I helped teach and guide them, and through a program at my high school where I got to care for and spend time with the younger students. These experiences helped me build patience, communication skills, and a deeper understanding of how to connect with kids of all ages.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I’m happy doing just about anything with the kids I care for. Whether it’s driving them to after-school activities, sports practices, or fun outings, I’m comfortable using my car and getting them where they need to be. I also really enjoy spending time at home with them, playing board games, reading, doing crafts, or going outside and doing activities.
Over the years, I’ve done all kinds of activities with the families I’ve worked with, and I’m always open to trying new things. I want make each day enjoyable for the kids I'm with—no matter what we’re doing. Some of my favorites have been taking them to ice cream, going to their sports games, playing board games, playing sports in the backyard, and playing indoor games from my childhood. I'd also love the chance to care for a baby and would be excited to help out with a little one if the opportunity comes up.

The most important part about being a nanny...
To me, the most important part of being a nanny is making a positive impact on a child’s life and being a role model they can look up to. My childhood nanny is still someone I look up to and am close with, and I want to be that to someone else. I truly love helping others and spending quality time with the kids I care for. I believe it’s so important to laugh, have fun, and create a joyful environment, while also being a steady, reliable presence they can count on.
Above all, I take the responsibility of keeping children safe and well cared for very seriously. Their well-being is always my top priority, and I want to create an environment where they feel both happy and secure.

The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite moments from this past summer was spending time with two boys I regularly cared for. Every week, we set up a backyard baseball game and would have a new walk-up song for each of us. It became our little tradition, and it was just as fun for me as it was for them. We spent hours outside playing, laughing, and just enjoying the moment. It’s memories like those that remind me why I love working with kids so much.

Part-Time Child Care Provider Available in Boulder, CO: Michelle R.
I've enjoyed working with kids in a variety of capacities for about 20 years. I've worked as a nanny, babysitter, swim teacher, & an intervention specialist with kids with Autism. I prioritize working with clear communication & reasonable structure. I break tasks down into manageable steps for teaching & try to "always catch the good" by emphasizing what's going right instead of just pointing out what needs to be adjusted. My grad program teaches a person-centered approach to first meet kids where they're at in order to help them get to where they want to go. I enjoy listening to Dr. Becky Kennedy's podcast "Good Inside" which is based on the premise that every child is good, even when they're behavior feels challenging; It's our job as their adults to help them navigate tough situations & emotions with compassion. The best learning comes from actively engaging in the world around us with curiosity & learning goals can easily be woven into natural experiences throughout the day.
