A little bit about me

Hi, I'm Sami! Some of the things I love most about life include nature, good food (even though I'm picky), music, laughing with those around you, hanging out with my best friend and my boyfriend, and much more. I attended one semester of college for elementary education and decided to take a gap in order to better my mental health and obtain more money. I now live with my family- my mom, adopted dad, older brother, and my 7 year old nephew on the weekends. In high school I was part of our theater program as well as our Be Nice. program. I took a Peer Assistant Listener class that helped me better my listening skills and be there for people in a more beneficially way. I was in choir for 5 years (my high school was 8-12 up until the grade after me) and fortunately, I was picked to be in our singing and dancing show choir- Vocal Dimensions. It was my favorite part of high school!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

While I was growing up, my mom helped watch children for people we knew well. I started getting a grasp of how to care for children from that. Years after, starting around age 12, I began watching kids from ranging ages of 0-9 occasionally. When my 7 year old nephew was born, my family decided to take him on weekends to help his mom out. I've been caring for and growing up with him ever since. We have a great bond and it's my favorite child-care experience I've ever had and continue to have.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy baking, running around outside or going to the park, walking dogs, going for drives, having shopping trips, playing games, helping teach them real life things, and much more.

The most important part about being a nanny is creating happy memories for children all while doing what needs to be done. Discipline can be needed and foots do need to be put down, but there are ways to do so kindly and efficiently.

The most important part about being a nanny...

It's hard to pick one moment. As I've mentioned before, I've been watching my nephew for many years now and with that time comes countless amounts of fun times. I always love when we run around outside together and play in with the hose or any sort of water, or when we hangout in my room and hang out heads slightly off the bed and make funny faces to each other. Hearing his laugh always makes me feel so satisfied.
