I also enjoy helping with learning through play, whether that’s doing simple science experiments, reading stories together, or practicing letters and numbers with games and flashcards. Staying active is always important, so I’ll often set up obstacle courses, lead dance parties, or take the kids on nature walks or scavenger hunts. When the weather is nice, I like to bring play outside with sidewalk chalk, water play, or even mini picnics in the yard. I also love simple, hands-on kitchen activities like baking cookies, decorating cupcakes, or making our own healthy snacks together. And just as important as fun and learning, I enjoy helping kids build social and emotional skills with things like role-playing games, gratitude talks, or kindness jar activities. Every day is a chance to make memories, learn something new, and have fun together!

I was at Ralphs when, all of a sudden, I felt a tiny human wrapped around my leg, it was one of the kids I nanny for during date nights twice a month! They recognized me and ran over with the biggest smile. Moments like that remind me how rewarding this job is. Even though I’m only with them a couple of times a month, it’s meaningful to know I’m making a positive impact in their life.
