Mother of two (3 year-old girl and 19 month boy). I frequently babysat as a teen, have a degree in English education, and now frequently babysit other children.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Singing time, educational games, free-play, time outdoors, cooking/baking, and especially reading time. We have VERY limited screentime (1-2 episodes or films a week) and will schedule that time outside nannying time if desired.
The most important part about being a nanny...
That the kids feel (and are!) loved and safe and that they learn and have fun. The health of our kids is very important to me, both emotional and physical. Getting them outside with sunscreen, exercising through play, with other children to learn social skills, eating healthy meals and snacks, a sleep schedule, and learning academic skills are all very important to me. I prioritize helping children develop work ethic by learning to cleanup toys and dishes. I will fully honor the disapline philosophy of parents as long as that philosophy is free of any form of abuse.
